2012 Lacrosse Protective Gear Designed with Speed and Flexibility in Mind
Considered the “fastest growing sport on 2 feet” we can’t help but get excited about this year’s college lacrosse season. For those who are new to the sport, imagine a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey, where the player must master the use of a stick (the crosse) to throw, catch and scoop a ball. ESPN, ESPNU and ESPN3 will air over 49 games this season and April is the start of many college tournaments and divisional championships. Next in the line-up is the ESPNU Warrior Classic on Saturday April 14th and following will be the semifinals for the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Friday April 20th.
To add to our excitement, 2012 was the first season where players were able to try two new lines of lacrosse protective gear with PORON® XRD™ Extreme Impact Protection. On the men’s side, Gait Lacrosse’s new Dakota Equipment Line features all new shoulder pads, arm guards, elbow caps and gloves each enhanced with PORON XRD Technology for maximum protection without weighing down the player.
Additional features included in the new Dakota Equipment Line include:
– Low-profile design
– PORON XRD Padding placed in critical impact zones for maximum protection…hit after hit
– New pad shapes for increased flexibility and maximum range of motion
– Breathable PORON XRD Protection helps maintain air flow and comfort
On the women’s side, deBeer Lacrosse released a new Fierce™ Lacrosse Glove which features PORON XRD Padding for ultimate impact protection, flexibility and breathability. Their goalie protective line includes the new Vault Chest Protector with PORON XRD Technology for superior impact absorption without the bulk.
