Work boots Feature New Metatarsal Guard Made With PORON® XRD™ Impact-Absorbing Technology
Woodstock, CT; February 21, 2012 – Rogers Corporation, manufacturer of PORON® Cushioning Materials, is proud to announce that Justin Original Workboots has incorporated PORON® XRD™ Extreme Impact Protection into the design of two new work boots to be launched in retail stores nationwide this spring.
To protect against metatarsal injuries, Justin Original Workboots’, WK630-Lace-R® WK and 4630-Pull On, are constructed with a new, flexible impact-absorbing PORON® XRD™ M-Guard that provides repeated impact protection along the instep of the boot. The M-Guard also helps the work boots pass the ASTM F2413-11 met-guard standard for impact protection.
“We developed these work boots with the most technologically-advanced materials to exceed the required safety standards without foregoing exceptional comfort” said, Brandon Barker, Justin Original Work boots Brand Manager. “The PORON XRD M-Guard has allowed us to develop flexible, low-profile designs, which make our safety boots comfortable for the wearer without sacrificing dependable and consistent impact protection.”
In multiple impact absorption tests, PORON XRD Material continually surpasses the competition for repeated impact absorption in a thinner, lighter-weight, contouring material. While soft and flexible to the touch, the material instantly forms a comfortable, protective shell on impact, providing reliable and long-lasting protection.
The M-Guard is one of PORON XRD Extreme Impact Protection’s ready-to-use shapes that were developed for products where flexibility, ease of motion and impact absorption is critical. The shapes offer a sleek, slim design that can be seamlessly incorporated into various applications without bulk, and feature Microban® antimicrobial protection to help fight the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew.
“Next to meeting safety standards, long-term comfort is a priority when it comes to purchasing work boots”, said Dave Sherman, New Business Development Manager, PORON Cushioning. “Justin Original Workboots recognizes that fact and we are honored that it has selected PORON XRD Extreme Protection to build the safest, most comfortable boot for its customers.”
In addition to the PORON XRD M-Guard, the new Justin Original Work boots performance features include JOW Waterproof Technology, J-Flexible Comfort System®, Composite Safety Toe, Electrical Hazard Compliance and Vibram® Black Montana TC4 Component Outsole. The boots will be available in stores April 15, 2012.
