Thomas’s personal challenge with the help of PORON® Vive™ Energy Activated Cushioning insoles

As materials engineers and manufacturers, we’re all about the data.  And we put our PORON technologies to the test with various in-house and 3rd party testing to ensure our quality standards and material specifications are met.

But what matters most is how our products perform when they’re put through the daily use, intense game day impacts and long miles our customers sustain with products containing PORON and XRD Technologies.

Life for me is all about taking challenges, the bigger the better. Of course this means that you have to take in account that challenges are, per definition, not easy and finding appropriate solutions for your obstacles is a key for success.

A few years ago I started to take health as a personal challenge. Until then I was a smoker, worked (probably too many hours) and  travelled a lot for my job (although the latter is still a passion and was an excuse not to do sports)…

So “quit smoking” was the first challenge and “start running” the second.  For running, I tackled a 10k and after a few months completed my first 10 miles and then proceeded towards a 20k.  Eventually running wasn’t enough, so I started swimming and racing, which led me to my first 1/4 triathlon.  But a marathon, that was the real challenge.

During this process, I found a rather unusual partner, PORON Vive insoles. Logo Vive

The PORON marketing department in Gent had already supported me a few times with insoles with other PORON formulations, but for running long distances, the Vive Insoles really made the difference. Especially when you are faced with some small pains in the knees. The shock-absorption and extra active support had a huge effect, and allowed me to keep my comfort-zone as long as possible, while enjoying my challenge to the fullest.

So thanks, an extra benefit that came with the job…I ran better with Rogers!

Thank you Thomas for your feedback and good luck on your marathon and future endeavors!

We’d like to extend Thomas’s personal challenge to you and offer PORON insoles for your next adventure.  Simply post a comment below or contact us!
